ICanMed is Auckland's admissions preparation service built exclusively for students applying into the University of Auckland's clinical programmes — Medicine, Pharmacy, Optometry, and Medical Imaging. We work with University of Auckland applicants only, and we specialise in what decides these applications after grades: the interview-based selection process, including the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) and, for Medicine applicants, Casper.
ICanMed was founded by a University of Auckland medical student who went through the UoA MMI process himself. After seeing how little UoA-specific guidance existed — most interview prep in New Zealand is generic, built for overseas admissions systems, or run by people who've never sat a UoA MMI. He built ICanMed to close that gap: a service run by people who have actually been through the exact process our students are preparing for.
We don't do generic, NZ-wide interview prep, and we don't adapt content built for Australian or UK admissions systems. ICanMed works with University of Auckland applicants only. That's it. Every session, mock station, and Casper scenario we run is built around UoA's actual selection criteria for Medicine, Pharmacy, Optometry, and Medical Imaging, not a generalised version of it. This single-university focus means our tutors and materials stay current with exactly how UoA runs its admissions each year, rather than trying to cover every university's process at once.
We don't do sales scripts or pressure tactics. Every family who talks to us gets an honest answer about where their child stands and whether ICanMed is actually the right fit — even when the answer is no. We'd rather build long-term trust with Auckland families than oversell a service that isn't right for a particular student.

We work exclusively with students applying to New Zealand's MBChB programmes at the University of Auckland with a focus on MMI interview coaching and university-specific admissions support.
